A very flexible table that lives up to ads... Jun 15, 2005

I had my tablemates for 3 months now and it's still in one piece. The table is very flexible and you can adjust it to 3 different heights and 3 tilt positions. The table top is durable plastic and the legs are aluminum. The table is easy to assemble out of the box and requires no tools.
----The Negatives: The height is not easily adjusted. The legs use locking pins that must be adjusted independently. The home site has a 2 for 1 but charges Shipping and handling equal to the table price. The time for delivery can be as long as 60 days. I strongly recommend ordering them from a well know store like Amazon. This is perfect as a bed tray like ones in hospitals.

Keeps my lap from cooking when using my laptop.... Oct 16, 2005
By Spumanti I purchased this because I was tired of my laptop feeling like it was cooking my lap whenever I used it from the couch. I agree that the height is difficult to adjust, but I don't mess with the various heights, so it's not an issue for me. For my purposes as a laptop table, it works great.

Problems With Tablemate II Jan 18, 2006
By The Shadow I was so anxious to get this. I was adjusting the height upward by pressing the two metal buttons protruding from the holes in the legs, and the metal buttons disappeared and fell out of the leg. The little buttons are on the end of a spring-type clamp. It broke on my third or fourth time to press them. I put a screw in the holes. It works, but you can't adjust the height anymore. That was very disappointing, but I really do like the idea of the tablemate. I feel it should be a little stronger and should be able to adjust to a higher position for tall folks like me.

Works for a laptop table Mar 29, 2006

I bought this table to use with my laptop while sitting on the couch or chair in my living room. It works nice for this purpose. I agree that the materials used to make the table are not quite worth $30 (I got mine on ebay for $23 and that was with shipping). The legs are not as sturdy as I'd like (they kind of wobble back and forth) but they do the job. I do like how legs go under the furniture and I can get comfortable on the couch. Overall, it works for what I'm using it for and I'd probably buy it again.

Table Mate II is great! I've owned for over 2 years! May 18, 2006

I am in no way connected with the makers or sellers of Table Mate. As for them being listed several times, by several companies selling them, if you'd searched on Amazon much you'd find that is common. As for the few negative reviews the only thing I can figure is they're talking about Table Mate I (which I've never tried) or some other brand completely. I've had the Table Mate II for at least 2 years and use it daily for my laptop and occassionally for eating on. It certainly can be set perfectly flat. I wouldn't recommend leaning heavily on it but I rest my hands/arms on my laptop while I type all the time (like now) without a problem. It has held up superbly to my abuse. I'm extremely happy I purchased this and am planning on buying a couple more as gifts (one for my fiance who likes and really wants one like mine).
