Stopped my cat from scratching the furniture... Jan 07, 2009
By Lady_D I applied this to all the corners of all the chairs in my living room. My cat no longer scratches the furniture, however he does seem to be attracted to the tape and I'll frequently catch him licking the tape (he's weird, I know). It has to be reapplied periodically, as it picks up a lot of dust, cat hair etc. Even when it's not very sticky my cat won't scratch it though. So I'm hoping maybe he's just learned not to scratch there and we may not need to keep reapplying the tape.
Overall, I'd recommend giving this a try if your cat is destroying your furniture.

Leaves nasty sticky residue Jul 11, 2010
By MikeGyver This kept the cats from scratching the couch but left a nasty sticky residue. Packaging states it does not leave a residue. Very disappointed. No idea how I am going to remove the goo from the couch. Stay away from this product.

Didn't think it would work this well Feb 21, 2011
By arielacr I was hesitant about this product but bought it out of sheer desperation. I was surprised at how well it deters my cats from trying to shred my new couch to death.
I do not recommend it for non-fabric surfaces (i.e. counters) because it leaves a mark when you peel it off. But for couches, beds, etc. it's FABULOUS.
Solved my whole "should I get the cats declawed" issue.

Only one problem Jun 13, 2010
By Noname Sticky Paws works to keep my kitten from jumping onto the ottoman and scratching it up. At first, I thought it wouldn't work because the tape did not stick well; but after awhile, the tape bonded and I didn't have a problem. The kitten didn't like the tape and stayed off the ottoman. Problem was I couldn't be on the ottoman, either. We had a party and I had to take the tape off. It came off easily and didn't leave a residue. I'll put it back on, if I see the kitten jump back on to scratch. Works well.

UPDATE: This does leave a residue on my tile counter. The residue comes off will a little cleaning, but it is a little annoying.

No Residue Dec 17, 2011

There is no residue on a cloth couch at all. Mainly due to the fact that it wont stick to a couch at all either. It was a waste of money in that aspect. It may work on other surfaces but the cat does not scratch there. :(
