Too flimsy for kitty Mar 22, 2010
By Paul

I had used the sticky paws that comes on a roll before and it was pretty effective, with about the weight of packing tape and quite sturdy.
This is very different. It comes In sheets and is so delicate that the slightest touch can render it useless. It's more like the consistency of cheap off brand plastic wrap that sticks to nothing but itself. Very disappointing.

can work well Apr 04, 2007
By L. Carter This works for a lot of cats and I've used it successfully in the past. However, my current cats think it's a toy and keep pawing, scratching, and biting at it until they remove it from whatever surface it's on. Occasionally they will carry it around after that. I recommend trying some double stick tape first to see how your cats react.

may cause death?!? Aug 03, 2007
By Ruth Ann Staton On the package this stuff says "Won't harm fabric or cats!" It's easy to apply, doesn't leave (too much) goo behind. And it kept our one bad cat from picking at the part of the door where the tape was. Unfortunately, our good cat thought the stuff tasted good and would sit and lick it. I read the rest of the packaging to see if it was harmful to be eaten and the package says this on the back "Sticky Paws is not intended for animal or human consumption, and may cause injury or death. If ingestion occurs, seek immediate medical attention. In no event shall Fe-lines, Inc be responsible for any damage to furniture or any other applications, or for any bodily injury or death to any person or animal." So we had to immediately take the stuff down.
It is effective Dec 15, 2011
By Sandy Cerdy Sticky Paws was effective in keeping my cat from scratching on spots where I put it. I use it on the top of some speakers and on my sofas. I have red leather furniture so it is somewhat noticeable and not very pretty but at least it keeps him from tearing into the leather. I have had it for a couple weeks and it seems to be safe with the leather, which was one of my initial concerns.
loved it Jun 13, 2011
By Alina I liked the tape better than the sticky strips, although both products worked. This product didn't leave any marks on the furniture (which I was VERY nervous about) and my cat stopped stepping and scratching our new chairs. It took our cat a couple times to jump on it, walk over the tape and, I guess, she didn't like the feeling and stopped jumping and scratching the chairs. (I have a Sphinx cat who is, I sometimes believe, pre-programmed to destroy everything). I did have to reapply the tape on the furniture twice, but now, since my cat doesn't go there any more, I took the tape off. Highly recommend this product.
