4snug-tastical  Oct 07, 2009 By DH
Words can not express the unadulterated awesome of the leopard Snuggie. I am simultaneously harnessing all the warmth of the polar bear's dense coat, and all of the cunning, ferocity, and speed of the mighty leopard. I could prowl the night and fight crime in this Snuggie.

Unlike the much inferior pink Snuggie, this powerful Snuggie could never call one's masculinity into question. Did you not see? It has leopard spots! And it is a proven fact that no truer symbol of potent and virile masculinity exists than the great cats, prowling sinewy and muscular through steamy jungles before they lunge for the kill.

Well.. except for bulls. And bears, maybe, but that's beside the point.

Docking one star for this impressive garment, because I have to remove it in order to urinate. I consider the omission of a frontal flap to constitute a major design flaw -- Please fix at once!

4I seriously made fun of this, now I love it!  Oct 22, 2009 By Kal Belle "Kallie P"
For the last year, I laughed and made fun of the Snuggie and everyone who wore one. Come on guys, it's not that hard to use a blanket! But I've recently noticed that my boss, who I share an office with, likes to keep things refrigerator cold. I shiver and pile on sweater after sweater and have even brought blankets from home to try and keep warm, but no matter what, it always hinders getting my work done. For months now I've been jokingly telling him to get me a Snuggie and we could run the A/C as cold as he'd like to instead of us battling over the air on or off. Today I came into work and found that for my birthday he had actually picked up this Snuggie! I laughed and was appreciative, almost feeling bad that all the while I had been joking. But once I opened it up and put it on, I was actually surprised by how soft it was, how long it was and how covered and warm I was! I don't know if I'll take it home and use it there, I have plenty of comfortable blankets at home that I don't need to have free hands with all the time, but it has been a LIFESAVER at work and I can honestly get more done now. It sounds lame, I know, believe me, but I'm very happy to have this and if you're always chilly at work, I'd recommend it! The little bonus light is pretty neat too. I'm 5'5", average size and it fits very loosely. Plenty of arm room, not tight at all, and it pools on the floor if I stand up in it, and I'm wearing nearly 4 inch heels today. The leopard print is not loud, very muted and not trashy like I was worried it would be. The fleece isn't super thick, but it's not like a papery hospital gown or anything. It is as soft on the "inside" as it is on the "outside", not scratchy or static-y for me. A very thoughtful yet funny gift turned out to be something very worthwhile for me, I'm glad I joked so long about needing one!

2Cheap Quality Fleece! Do Not Buy!!  Dec 01, 2009 By OrangeCrush "Still shooting with Film!"
I was given 2 Snuggies as gifts and they are very warm and comfortable however after just 2 washes the fleece started pilling. For those out there that are unschooled in the differences in fleece, pretty much every fleece in the world is soft and warm to begin with. One of the biggest differences between high quality and low quality fleece lies in the "pilling effect". Pilling occurs when the garment's fibers roll up, often after being washed, and lie on the surface like tiny round pills. This pilling seriously effects almost every aspect of the fleece including how it feels and its ability to keep heat in. All fleece pills eventually. You can tell how old a Patagonia Synchilla jacket is based off of how much pilling has taken place. High quality fleece doesn't pill for quite some time and cheap fleece starts to pill almost immediately. I had serious pilling after only 2 washes with the Snuggies and I am over 20 washes with my Slankets and they still haven't shown any sign of pilling yet.

The bottom line - Snuggies are cheaper but you get what you pay for. A Slanket costs more but its going to last you a considerably longer amount of time than the Snuggie and it will keep its softness and its ability to keep in warmth much longer than the Snuggie. I gave my Snuggies to the Salvation army and purchased 4 Slankets. My advice is to stay as far away from the Snuggie as possible. Spend a little more and get something that is actually much higher in quality. If however you care more about saving money than actually buying something of quality then maybe the Snuggie is for you after all.

4"Best Present" my 13-year-old niece received  Oct 28, 2009 By J. Brainerd
My niece was positively frantic to have the Snuggie in Zebra print after having shared one with a friend at summer camp. Apparently, my purchasing of the Snuggie has made me into the "best aunt ever".

I did open up the box to try to find out what all the hubub is about. I, personally, don't see anything amazing about the Snuggie. But even I, a jaded, deal-hunting kind of girl, can appreciate the extraordinary level of excitement shown by my emo-style 13-year old niece when she received it.

If it can do that to a girl who spends 99.9% of her waking hours pouting - it's a win in my book.

2not so cozy!  Jan 07, 2010 By G. Carter "ProbableCause"
I received the leopard print (supposed to be more plush) snuggie as a gift. Midwest winters are super cold and I couldn't wait to snuggle up in this thing. As I was putting it on, my thoughts were, I'm putting on a robe backwards! It didn't stay up on my shoulders, I am constantly pulling the thing up around my neck and shoulders. There's no buttons, snap, belt to keep this thing secured around you, pockets would be a great help too, but it has none. The last straw was when I moved to get up from my lounging spot I became entangled in the darn thing and fell, twisting my ankle & spraining my wrist.

The free booklite may as well be a lighter, it is not functional for me. I like to read but this thing won't stay in place where I put it and the output is not very brite at all. It's kind of like an airplane seat light, one spot but at least the airplane has good placement and is able to secure in one position, can't be done with this one. It's not as "plush" as the advertising made it out to be, just a thin, flimsy microfleece. If the solid colors are less plush then for sure, it's a pure waste of $, it's no more comfy than a regular throw blanket which I have resorted back to using. Lastly, the fabric made me itch really bad, I'm not sure if it's the material or something else but I couldn't wait to get out of it, when I did the itching subsided, it sheds too, onto my black microfiber furniture, was difficult to get off, Snuggie is not snuggierific!
