Put an end to thick peels and all that waste. Use Rotato for peeling and paring all kinds of vegetables and fruit: potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, apples, pears and more. To Use, skewer a potato to the bottom spike. Lower the top spike , and make sure the potato is skewered solidly. Rotate the handle. The skin peels off in one clean, continuous curve. To remove any potato eyes or blemishes on vegetables or fruit, hold the enclosed paring knife between the thumb and forefinger and scoop out. The Rotato features two extra blades tucked in a built in compartment, Handy thumb knife for quick easy paring The Rotato is made of durable ABS plastic and has a non slip base and is dishwasher safe.

5The Rotato Rocks!  Nov 27, 2005 By Jan Borelli
Now, you can get the Rotato which is a hand cranked operation or the Rotato Express which is an automatic gadget. I prefer the Rotato because the wiring tends to get misplaced in my gadget loving household. Here's the deal... if you (and/or your family) loves potatoes (fried, diced, mashed... you get the idea), then you really must have a terrific potato peeler. And quite frankly, there is none finer. The hand cranked variety of the Rotato will last you through thousands of potatoes; and you will look like a whiz kid. This is a great thing to give for xmas-- a sort of generic xmas present that will be loved long after this xmas is over. Also, it comes with extra blades (because they do wear out) that you can locate in its base. I bought an extra set (at a very reasonable price) because I have broken a few of the blades along the way.

4Great gadget!  Feb 22, 2005 By A. Troya
My mother has a touch of arthritis in her hands and peeling potatoes was a a bit of a chore for her. My sister bought this device for her several years ago and it's worked very well. You still have to manually peel a small portion of the top and bottom of the potato, but the Rotato has made the potato peeling job quicker and easier for her.

4Great product  Aug 04, 2005 By AV Saint
I received this item as a gift, and i have used it to peel not only potatoes, but carrots and apples too. The blades break easily though, so make sure you buy additional blades. Cleaning is easy to do. Great product. I would have preferred the rotato express though.

1Waste of Money  Jan 09, 2008 By MTPsychMajor
I received the Rotato from my husband due to my constant groanings regarding having to peel so many potatos for both Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. What a waste of time and money. The Rotato worked terrific for the first three potatos....then the blade became too dull to do any more. We replaced the blade assuming that it wouldn't happen again, but we were wrong. We were able to peel no more than three potatos at a time before the blade became dull; and these were TINY potatos! Also, we disliked that we lost SO much of the potato when we peeled it. If we peeled a smaller potato, it wasn't even worth our time because we lost so much of it that there was hardly anything left of the potato to cook. The makers of The Rotato should be ashamed of themselves for selling such a worthless product.

5large crowd of potato lovers  Nov 28, 2009 By Mary A. Monahan
I love, love, love this peeler. As a mother of 7 and now a still expanding family of approx. 26, this peeler is fantastic. I've had it about 4 years. I use it only for large gatherings. For Thanksgiving I peeled 10 lbs. of potatoes in approx. 15 min. I load a potato and while thats peeling I do the finishing work on the already peeled potato...which is literally a couple swipes of a hand peeler. I've never had to change the blade, it's sharp as ever. I have decovered it works a lot more efficiently if your potatoes are relatively clean. Last year I had some that I bought at a roadside stand and on peeling them the rotato clogged a couple times and I just had to take a toothpick and unclog it. The clean bag of potatoes I purchased this year went through perfectly.
