3Leather/vinyl kit  Jan 29, 2008 By MelindaC "Melinda Clayton"
I think in order for this product to be most effective you would need to practice with it multiple times in order to get it right. The product did work to repair the damage, but the shade is a bit off, and the texture does not match. I have no doubt that someone with a lot of experience could make it match, but the average consumer needs a lot of practice before attempting to repair something. I used it in my car, but I would never use it on my leather couch because there's virtually no way to make it match perfectly.

5worked well  Sep 06, 2010 By Regina Medard
My chair had several places worn where it had rubbed against the window sill. I followed the easy instructions and took my time matching the dark chocolate color. I applied the mixture as directed and you can't even tell where the repairs were made. I highly recommend this product!

2Tiny  May 09, 2011 By M. Louis "my opinion"
The patch included in this kit is tiny. It's only about 3"x3". That' fine for a hole, but not even close for a tear. If you have a hole you need fixed then by all means, but if it's longer than 2.5" then this kit won't do it.

3Still seen as "a patch"  Jan 30, 2010 By Kimberley H. Schmoekel
My leather chair had cracked in folds in the seat and behind the head. The repair gel fills in the area but it still looks like a "patch". The creases will continue to cause the gel to crack again. It would probably work much better on a flat surface.

1Where is the 0 Star Option?  Feb 10, 2011 By Brad D. Stetson
My couch had a small tear in it from the children. After using this product, the couch looks WORSE than before. I have three main problems with the product.

1. The directions say to clean the problem area first. They suggest using alcohol. When I applied an alcohol wipe to the area, it dulled the shine of the leather. It looks very bad.

2. The "vinyl adhesive" in my package did not adhere to anything. Heck, it stuck to my fingers more than it did to the material. It was the consistency of clay and bonded even worse than clay. I ended up having to use super glue to get the backing piece to stay in place.

3. The grain paper stuck to the repair job. When I tried to remove the grain paper, it pulled up the dried compound and ruined both the grain paper and the repair job. The directions state to let the compound dry for 3 - 5 hours, then remove the grain paper. I'm not sure if they have the order wrong, or if I should have removed it sooner - but in following the directions as they're written the repair job looks worse than the ripped couch. I am VERY disappointed in my decision to use this product.
