1Can't distinguish pennies from dimes.  Apr 14, 2009 By Blue Flamingo
I got this as a gift. It seemed like a convenient way to store loose change however the machine doesn't seem to distinguish between pennies and dimes well leading to very inaccurate totals. Because of this I had to reset it and restart counting numerous times til I finally gave up and just put the coins in the plastic jar without the counter.

1dissatisfied customer  Nov 30, 2009 By M. Montesdeoca "coin counter"
i bought four of the coin counters (1 for each coin; pennies dimes nickles and quarters) and out of the four counters only 1 was good. the other 3 broke almost immediately. one has a display problem after .25 cents you cant read what it says. another doesnt recognize the coin i am entering, i put in a dime it reads a penny, i put in a quarter it reads a nickle, i put in a nickle it reads a dime. and the other doesnt read anything at all. i would have to say i am very dissatisfied with this product and would not buy another one.

3money bank  Jan 10, 2009 By Kirsten I. Snare "Kirsten"
This item was shipped fast. But it does not work as well as i like. Some of the coins that go through the machine does not count them at all.

5It's a great toy for this price!  Aug 09, 2010 By Howard
Before I ordered this toy, I checked with reviews on amazon.com. I decided to try it because it's really cheap (<$7 including shipping). After I tested the toy, I'd say it's pretty accurate. occasionally it makes mistake but it's not big problem (you won't use it to count $100 bill, right? ). I'll order one more.
Overall, both my kids and me like it.

1WORTHLESS!  Jul 16, 2010 By L. L Teuling "meloroze"
Even as I sit here, I'm putting money into this bank. This is the third time in a row it has read a quarter as a nickel. It reads my pennies as nickels at times, too. In fact, right now I'm just plain exasperated and am going to put my change somewhere else, and most likely I'm going to throw the whole unit away. I was dumb enough to buy two of these and am getting the same stellar performance (ha, ha) out of the other one as well.

I'm thinking of another strategy -- a good, solid tin can. If you're in an artistic mood, you can put some contact paper around it. Then when the pocket change reaches a certain height, you can get some coin wrappers, bundle the money up, take it to the bank and you'll be set.

The idea is good -- a bank that counts coins -- but get one that actually works!
