2very low grade stainless-rusts  Dec 04, 2004 By J Tria "gusser33"
I would not recommend this set for any reason. I ordered this set and the one offered by ron popeil for the same price. The Popeil set had more items and was just a more substantial product. My miracle III knives have rust stains and the small chopper is so thin that it is nicked. Plus, the sets were $39.00 when they were made in the USA. Now they are made in china and sell for the same price. Do not be fooled by the wonderful television ad's. the set from popeil is far superior and the same price.

update: 10 mar 05. these people are impossible. my knives are RUSTING. stainless steel!!!!!!!! i called miracle blade two months ago. they were going to send me a new set. That was after being cut off 3 times. their computers were down. i called them again the other day and was told their computers were down. finally i called and said i wanted to place an order and it was a miracle, the computers suddenly came up. i finally demanded a supervisor, none available. i was told i would have to pay $29.00 for the warranty. i laughed. i had to pay $14.99 for shipping. they are just sleezy. look into sharpkut II. they are great knives. i have had one for twenty years. i thought that miracle blade was the same company. NOT. sharpkut II knives are made in the USA and don't rust. trust me. stay away from miracle blade.

1Rusty knives and worse customer service  Mar 06, 2007 By tuanomsoc
I got these knives as a gift. Ironically, the first thing to rust was the part of each knife stamped "Stainless Steel".

Let's be realistic. These knives are cheap. They're thin and they're not well weighted. However, they say stainless steel, and you figure that that's what you're getting. I hand-washed these knives and dried them immediately, but they still corroded.

Now comes the bad part. I wrote to their customer service department twice and didn't hear back. I finally got their address (from the post office) and sent them back the knives. It took three months of me emailing and calling them (with 15+ minute wait times for Each Call) to get them to send me a replacement set.

The replacement set rusted in about two weeks. That was in September. I just got off the phone with Miracle Blade, a call during which I was interrupted so many times that I actually had to say "I'm going to finish my sentence" so their rep would stop talking. They won't refund my money. In fact, they won't refund Anyone's money after 30 days. The lifetime warranty is for replacement only. They'll send me another set of soon-to-be-rusty knives, of course--if I pay the shipping and handling...Again. I asked the rep for his full name, for his ID#, and for a manager, and he refused all requests.

In summary, if you buy these knives, they will rust. You will want to get rid of them. Your only option will be the garbage can.

2Longer knives too flexible...not sharp anymore!  Dec 23, 2004 By S. Sigley "plant lady"
I ordered my set off t.v. when they first started advertising the new set, so have had mine well over a year now. It did come with a block, 4 extra steak knives (didn't come with a utility knife and use the steak knives as such), an extra super slicer, juicer (all white--works just fine), etc. The first day I had them my teenage son cut his finger cutting something, so they were razor sharp, however after a years' use they are downright dangerous to use! They lost their sharp edge and I didn't do to them what Chef Tony did to the ones on t.v.! I darn near cut my finger off trying to cut a raw potatoe in half with the "Chop 'N Scoop". The blade is so thin that it flexed, the knife went sideways and nearly got my finger. I have found that the most used knives in the set will all lose their edge within a year, depending on use. My husband hates the long slicer with the twin points at the end--when you finish a slice, drawing the blade backward and begin to go back over whatever you're slicing, the points can accidently get stuck in the food item, causing your hand and arm to come to a sudden halt and can result in your hand sliding up to the actual blade and getting cut. It should glide smoothly over the item until you come to the spot you want to start slicing at.

I was very disappointed when I received these and opened up the box. You had to put your own logos on the knife handles! Anytime the consumer has to put the company's logo "stickers" on the knife handles, you know you're not dealing with quality!! To top that off, the glue used on the stickers was cheap and most fell off within the first two handwashings. They were fairly screaming cheap, cheap, cheap! By the time I paid shipping and handling I had spent $95 and the block was supposed to be "free". I'm pretty sure I paid for it! By the way, I recently purchased a magnetic knife holder for the kitchen wall (MIU France makes a really nice one) and got rid of the knife block that took up valuable counter space. It's an option for those of you who didn't get the knife block with your set.

I must say, though, that mine have never rusted or broken (thought one would once) even though they were made in China. I have also never tried to sharpen them. I might try that just for the fun of seeing how fast they turn to toothpicks or if it's even possible to sharpen. All-in-all, I am disgusted with them and their claims. I recently went online and purchased Wusthof's Grand Prix series and let me tell you there's a world of difference between them! First, the stainless steel looks entirely different from the Miracle Blade's (no mottling) and the blades are heftier and go all the way through the handles. Second, the blades were just as sharp, or sharper, as the Miracle's and I know I can sharpen these! Third, I got to pick the pieces I wanted. I guess that old saying my parents grew up with still holds true--buy the best and you won't have to buy it again (or "You get what you pay for")! Because over the last 10 years I have purchased no less than four (probably more like five or six) knife sets and none have lasted.:=( Hopefully I will never have to buy knives again. The Miracle Blades are destined for my daughter's yard sale or my husband's workshop, although I wonder if that's a good idea--he might chop something off trying to cut something. We all know the most dangerous knife is the dullest one. Maybe I will try sharpening them first. Wonder how long they'd last out there in his shop???

4Good and Bad  Apr 23, 2006 By R. Fritz
Bought my set 2.5 years ago, and while the quality is not great, the knives work great.

Pros: For the price (approx 25-30 dollars for the set) these knives can't be beat. I just bought another set to replace the wear and tear listed below. $30 and used the set for 30 months...can't beat it. The Rock/Chop, Bread knive, Scissors and Steak Knives get a daily workout at my house.

Cons: These knives WILL rust. However, the Rock Chop and Bread knives have not rusted.I don't take care of my steak knives very well, leave the steak knives in water glasses in the sink (I put them in the dishwasher too..) and broke the scissor handles doing something stupid. The little button decals came off the first month. Don't even bother contacting customer service, it is TERRIBLE.

Yes, I bought a second set.
I'm sure I could spend $200 to $300 dollars and get an awesome set I will never have to repair or replace, but at a dollar a month(my cost to use before replacing....) I can't see spending the extra money. These knives REALLY work great.

1What guarantee?  Jun 03, 2007 By D. Farris
I purchased the set from t.v. The thin chopping blade broke in my hand. I contacted the company for a replacement in September 2004 and pre-paid for the shipping of the replacement. For 6 months I called almost daily and sent numerouse e-mails. It is now June 2007 and I have yet to receive the replacement. Don't fall for it like I did. Even when it was apparent that I was not going to receive the blade, I asked for a refund of my shipment payment and was denied that as well. Not only do they have cheap products, they will steal from you!
