5Now I Can Hem My Own Pants!  May 28, 2010 By Clara Brown "Clara Brown"
I'm very short - 4'11", and I am always having to bring my pants to the tailors to be hemmed at $15-25 a pop, depending on where I go (it's expensive where I live!) I got tired of having to pay exhorbitant prices to have my pants taken up about an inch. I thought about using hem tape or stitch witch, and even looked into buying a small sewing machine (I don't know how to sew, however). Then I saw this product, and thought I'd at least try it. I LOVE IT. I hemmed three pairs of twill pants and a pair of jeans today and it took me about 15 minutes. You insert a plastic strip of very small "tacks" into the gun, turn your pants inside out, turn up the cuff to the length desired, insert the needle of the gun through the fabric, and pull the trigger. That's it. Take them off, and use as many tacks as you like around the hemline. The little plastic clips, or "tacks," are very hard to see once you're finished. I used the black ones on my blue pants, and they're barely noticable. I wish they made these in a tan color for khakis. I'll try using the white tacks and see how that looks. I'm very happy I bought this product, though. Now I can probably hem *most* of my pants on my own, and don't have to wait a week to get them back. And, the best part, you can remove the little tacks very easily. This is awesome, because this system allows you to adjust the hem length at will depending on which shoes you're wearing, and it literally takes only a few minutes -- I could probably do it in a minute or less if I hussled -- to hem a pair of pants. Do I enjoy having little plastic clips at the bottom of my pants leg. Not really - I'd rather have them sewn - but on the other hand, no one except me would ever notice them, and it's a practical way to save $$$ if you are constantly having to have your clothes hemmed. Highly recommend this product until something better comes along for do-it-yourself fast and easy alterations.

5Hide or Tack Everything!  Apr 27, 2009 By Elaine R. Cole "Seeker"
Well, not quite everything. This handy little gadget is wonderful for tacking in shoulder pads, making a neckline a little more modest, tacking blouse to bra straps so that they don't show--a multitude of handy-dandy last minute, temporary "fixes." It shoots into the fabric a very small plastic "thingee"--similar to what tags are attached with on new garments, except much, much shorter. They are hardly noticeable in the garment when you have used them. Beats fussing with shoulder straps, etc. the whole day or evening. Good, too, to fasten a blouse or shirt temporarily if you don't have time to replace a button.

5Great for clothes  Feb 24, 2009 By Simon K.
I bought this a couple years ago, and I am very pleased with it! I use the microstitch to make small fixes to my clothes: Hem my pants, close a shirt with a missing button, or keep a tank top in place. I'm addicted to it! I would definitely recommend this product.

5Revolutionary new tool  Jan 06, 2009 By Penelope T. Rongo "Manteocrazylady"
Excellent tool for quick basting quilts etc. Have used this on several quilts and have found it to be invaluable. No more sore hands or fingers with this amazing tool.

5Indispensable household tool  Feb 06, 2010 By D. Shumaker "unbalanced"
This is the 2nd Micro Stitch I have purchased. After my 1st one jammed after using it for about 6 or 7 years I tried to fix it myself and broke it. I could not get by without it so I bought another one. I use it to hem pants, make all kinds of temporary fixes and alterations to clothes, and for attaching craft parts to each other. This is a very fast and efficient way to fix a lot of things.
