Komen Breast Cancer Foundation have partnered together to give those who love to cook an opportunity to support the fight against breast cancer. Kyocera ceramic cutlery holds a razor-sharp edge 10 times longer than conventional cutlery, and is typically half the weight of an equivalent steel knife. Since the ceramic blade is so light, no artificial weight is added to the handle. This creates an extremely balanced, lightweight tool that becomes a comfortable extension of the hand, reducing fatigue during long, repetitive cutting tasks. These Kyocera Ergonomic Series knives offer a new way to cook. The ceramic blades are half the weight of steel and are chemically inert, for a cleaner & healthier kitchen. They're moisture-resistant, tightly riveted in 3 places and retain their sharpness 10 times longer than standard steel knives. The Santoku blade measures 5.5 inches and is white

unsure Jan 09, 2007
By tomslyk I bought this knife for my wife, and even though it is increably sharp. I'm afraid that I may inadvertently break the blade by putting any side pressure on it. It hasn't done anything to make me suspect it might break, it just lingers in the back of my mind. That being said, it's easy to clean, can slice anything so thin you can see through it. I'm very pleased, just have to get past the thought of breakage.

I have had knives which dull over time or are very heavy. This knife is so light and chops so well. Everytime someone comes over and uses it, they comment on how great of a knife it is. I want to buy another one because I use it that much. Ceramic is the way to go!

I have had this knife for a long while...at least 4 years.....and it has worked beautifully for me. It has become the "go to" knife, meaning I pull it out of the rack most often for different type of food jobs. It is easy to clean and stays sharp. Just had many staying for Christmas and found the tip chipped. So I'll buy another soon.

I LOVE these knives! Mar 23, 2011
By Cara E. West I am in love with these knives. They cut just about everything, they stay sharp, and are easy to clean. Unfortunately, if you aren't careful, they can break. My husband broke my first one in the garbage disposal and I recently broke my second one trying to pry apart two frozen hamburger patties. :( I almost cried, i'm that sad about loosing another one of these knives. I still recommend them highly am currently buying myself another one. I more than got my moneys' worth out of them. I don't use any other knife (even the henckels and wustoff knives i own).

Gotta have this knife Nov 23, 2010
By TiredMama Okay I admit it, I am a knife junky. I love knives. I can't resist the various blade thicknesses and the chime of the metal or the single molded steel. This knife manufacturer really did an outstanding job of making a lightweight knife that can cut through almost anything. It comes in an array of gorgeous colors and in the years I have had them (yes I have a few of them) I have never had to sharpen one. Pretty impressive since I own Henckels and have worn them out by sharpening. So go ahead, make that persons day and buy them a special color for a special occasion. They will remember and love you forever. I promise. Enjoy and Mangia Bene
