5Sensational specialized tool  Jul 23, 2009 By Gordon M. Wagner
I had ordered the smaller version of this which my cat promptly knocked off the counter and broke. That was kind of a blessing, since I ordered this larger size and it's MUCH easier to use than the small version. No more gumming up your box grater trying to prepare ginger. It's easy to use, well-designed (catches all the juice) and easy to clean. It has a rubber ring on the bottom so it stays put. Really an essential tool for the home cook.

5Great for grating foods for my baby  Apr 26, 2008 By Elena
I am using it to grate apples and pears for my 7-months-old. It works great! Apples are "strained". I am very happy with this purchase, even though it is not cheap. I would recommend it, it is much better to use, especially for babies.

5I can grate ginger again!  Jan 23, 2010 By Marion G. Paquin "Marion in Savannah"
I was given this grater as a gift, and I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful job it does on ginger. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists and had found it increasingly difficult to grate ginger for Soboro, one of our favorite recipes. With this grater I need to use very little pressure and I get spectacular results. It cuts the amount of time down to a quarter of the time it took when I was using a microplane grater, and as an added bonus I found the juice clearer, with less of the "milky" quality I was getting before. It's a dream to clean, too. It's dishwasher safe, but just a quick rinse under running water got rid of all the remaining fibers. I cannot rate this grater highly enough. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. I can't wait to try grating an onion to add to guacamole...!

5Japanese Grater  Jun 05, 2009 By Jobbes
Have you ever wondered how to grate wasabi, daikon radish and ginger the same way authentic japanese restaurants do? Well here is the answer.

This grater is awesome, I first learned about this grater when I had a small dinner party with some Japanese friends. One of them brought this grater to grate daikon radish. It was so simple to use and clean up was a breeze. Just place under running hot water and voila, all done.

Since this grater is ceramic, you wouldn't have to worry about rust/stains and food contamination. If you dig japanese or asian food in general, this would be one of those good handy tools you should have in your kitchen. I bought two and gave one as a present!

Kyocera 6.5 Inch Ceramic Grater
This product is awesome! I have tried many, many different products to grate ginger, and this, by far, is the best for the job and worth every penny.
