5Thank you Kyocera  Aug 09, 2007 By Neil
I never thought it would be so difficult to find a mill that would grind wet sea salt.

I tried a Peugeot:
Is anything coming out?
Nope...
Hmm...adjust the knob, maybe?
Nope...
Try shaking it, maybe?
Nope...

Then came a William Bounds model. Even on the fine setting, the salt came out in clumps.

Finally I got this Kyocera, and voila! A nice, even spray of salt. Was that too much to ask? Thank you, Kyocera.

5Perfect Sea Salt Mill  Jun 01, 2008 By M. Puglis
Finally...Like others have said...this one really works on the damp coarse sea salt!!!! I've been using it for over a month and it has never clogged!! The design of this mill is near perfect....no mess from the mill sitting on it's grinder like most mills....This beauty sits on it's amply sized glass resevoir...the grinder is then protected from dirt and dust by it's easy to remove cap!! I can't say enough about this mill....I've used other very pricey models that were total crap. I'm buying all my kids one for Christmas!!!!

5great product  Jul 20, 2007 By Michael M. Harper
This mill works like a charm at a lot cheaper price than any other ceramic mill that I was able to find. I am using it with some Celtic sea salt that seemed to be a lot more moist than other sea salt that I had used and my old mill would not grind it. This mill does so perfectly.

1Save your money!  May 25, 2010 By Pepin wannabee "foodie dude"
I've owned several of these grinders for a couple of years now; out of the 8 I bought, I have 3 that are still in one piece. The problems? The rotating grinder heads have all broken laterally. They also have a quality control problem in that the same sized grinding heads do not grind the same. In short, a good idea with third-rate manufacturing materials holding the ceramic.

5Highly recommended -- Collect a set!  Dec 26, 2010 By Michael D
I highly recommend the Kyocera Ceramic Mills. I have eight, a mixture of the FINE and COARSE mills. I have mills filled with: Cumin, Ajwain, Cardamon seeds, Fennel, Fenugreek, and Allspice (for the allspice, you need to crack them first, so they are smaller, which is easy to do in a morter and pestal once a year when you refill). I did not have success grinding my own coriander seeds. I have larger ceramic mills for Salt and Peppercorns.

The result is so much easier than grinding all my own spices -- it takes seconds -- I grab a grinder and add freshly ground spices to most dishes I cook. Also, it's very easy to control amounts. Adding a few twists of cumin here, half a twist of cardamon there.

I found that this small up-front investment in mills has led me to use my spices a lot more! I'm a fan!
