If you dislike spiders or other insects in your house and want to remove them without harm then all you need is the Spider Catcher. It works by surrounding the spider with bristles that close around the spider, the bristles harmlessly trap the spider, to allow you to pickup and release the spider outside. The Spider Catcher has a trigger at one end that operates the bristles at the other end; it is approx 65cm (25.60 inches) in length to allow you to approach the spider at a safe distance.Grasp the handle and with a squeeze of the trigger the bristles open. Once you have surrounded the spider quickly release the trigger and the bristles close gently around the spider, catching it safely and soundly. Now you can safely release the spider outside by pressing the handle again. The bristles open up and the spider falls out. The purpose of the Spider Catcher is to catch and remove spiders and other insects without harm, offering you a natural environmental pest control product. No chemicals and batteries are required for the Spider Catcher.

5The Perfect Bug Catcher  Jan 12, 2010 By V. Agnew
I have a mountain home and I evict at least one spider or beetle nightly. I was getting tired of chasing them down with a cup and piece of paper. This product works great. It keeps you a safe distance from the spider, works fast so they don't have time to run and traps them without hurting them. The best part is getting them off the ceiling or a high wall is a snap.
Great product and well made, even the packaging was smartly designed. Comes with a plastic spider to practice on and a clip to hang it on the wall. I am very glad I purchased this and I am suggesting it to everyone I know.
Also the shipping was very fast; it was at my door in a day or two.

5Effective Humane Bug Catcher - Not Just for Spiders  Nov 06, 2009 By D. Steinis
I've used this for about a year and found it effective in safely (for the bug) removing flying and crawling insects for release outdoors. Not just for spiders. I've removed and released flies, mosquitoes, centipedes, spiders, moths, beetles. Personally, I found it easier to remove lady bugs by letting them walk on a piece of heavy weight paper and bringing them outside. It's easy to use and its length provides safety from the scary bugs.

5Humane spider extractor  Sep 29, 2009 By Adam Helberg
I've used it on one spider, using the wick to transport it outside, and it worked great, and the spider seemed to be OK.

5Best $9.99 I Ever Spent  May 22, 2011 By Erin D.
Let me begin by saying, I am extremely squeamish of bugs coming near me, and I have a hard time killing anything so unless someone else removes spiders from my home, they just sort of take over. That's what happened this spring. I sort of remember seeing a giant spider egg sack in the basement, but assumed it would freeze or something during the winter. I guess I was wrong because my small house has been overrun with spiders, and I have been the only one here to take care of the situation. I decided to take action.

I saw this product on HSN or QVC or something, but didn't purchase it until I read the reviews on Amazon, and then I purchased it on Amazon. It came without a package, but it looked new and came with instructions and all that jazz. It also comes with a plastic spider that I practiced on, though it's hard to imagine that would actually be any good practice since real spiders move and growl at you. My first shot at catching anything happened one day as I was getting into the shower and a spider came flying out from between my shower curtain and liner. After much screaming and flailing, I remembered the spider catcher I had just purchased. I got up the nerve to try it, and since the spider was not on a hard surface, I only caught the end of his silk and had to carry him by that to the door, which, of course, by that time he had crawled up and was scurrying up the grabber tool towards me. I threw the whole contraption outside and slammed the door. Problem solved, sort of.

The next day, I retrieved the device from my front lawn and decided to try it again on a spider that was on the wall. Let me tell you, it worked perfectly! I have since caught and released a dozen spiders, though I honestly couldn't tell you if they survived the ordeal or not--I just sort of fling them out of the device when I get it outside. The spiders I am catching are not big, scary, wolf spiders either; these are common house spiders.

So, thanks to this device, my house is much closer to being a happier place for me, fo sho'. For $9.99 this takes the place of a cup and piece of paper (or live-in boyfriend) anyday!

5A big hit with the kids!  Dec 30, 2009 By S. Hahn
Even though the packaging says that it isn't designed to be a child's toy, I bought this as a Christmas present for my 3-year old nephew. His mother had recommended buying him one of those battery-powered, vacuum-type bug catchers, as my nephew is loving bugs right now. But after reading some reviews of the ineffectiveness of vacuum-type bug catchers and stumbling across this product, I decided to buy this Spider Catcher because it didn't need batteries to operate. I was a little skeptical at first that he would like this bug catcher, but it turned out to be a big hit with both my nephew and his 5-year old big sister. After a few minutes, they both got the hang of using the trigger (it was a little hard at first for their little hands) and got much better at picking up the fake spider included with the catcher. They then moved onto stray ribbons, hair pins, and anything else they could find on the ground. I also included a magnifying bug jar to the gift pack, and it seems like they'll have lots of fun catching and looking at bugs come springtime.
