5GENIUS!!  Jan 30, 2007 By L. Crabtree "Twixlen"
This is definitely worth the small price! I got one for Christmas, and have been using it non-stop since - it's fantastic. I buy my greens from a mega-mart in a huge container, pre washed, and rarely was able to use them up before they'd go bad. Since using this sac, my greens last SO much longer, and I definitely use them all up!! For my prewashed greens, I simply make sure the sac is damp before dumping them in there, then I toss it in the veggie draw in my fridge. The greens in my fridge now are a week old, and just as crisp and fresh as if I just got them.

GENIUS!!!

5I love it!!!!  Oct 12, 2006 By NWWT
This is one of my very favorite kitchen "gadgets." Certainly, it is great for keeping lettuce (I've tried it with lettuce, only, so cannot comment on other vegetables) for at least a week in the fridge. Most importantly, I've been totally delighted by the amount of lettuce that can be dried at one time. Previously, preparing a salad for a large amount of people has meant washing and spinning lettuce dry for much too much time. With the Salad Sac, it takes just one - or at the most, two - large bunches of lettuce thrown in, tossed around, and I'm done. Plus, I have a place to store lettuce until I'm ready to use it. I'm pitching my cumbersome, hard-to-store dryers and buying another Sac to keep in my kitchen towel drawer. I'm sold!!!

4it works!  Aug 16, 2007 By V. Jones
i'm so happy to have the salad sac. no longer do i have problems with brown lettuce leaves when i don't eat them for oh, lets say 2-4 days!! i wash everything and i just put it right in the salad sac and it stays fresh.

food will go bad eventually no matter what you have it in but it really does preserve your lettuce a lot longer then just keeping it in the plastic it came in.

one thing i do have to say is that the outside of the bag can get very dirty. i would recommend 2 salad sacs. one that can go in the laundry and one that can stay in the ice box. so you can transfer the salad from the dirty bag into the clean one and just throw the dirty one in the washing machine and your good to go...

its a good investment...better then throwing away brown lettuce because by throwing away brown lettuce your wasting time and money.

4The Salad Sac is a good space saver  Nov 21, 2007 By Kari Solomon
I got the Salad Sac because I was tired of getting out the salad spinner and it took up too much room in the fridge. With the Salad Sac, you just wash off your lettuce, throw it in the bag and just pat it a little to get out some of the water. You can also use it for other vegetables as well. While it takes up less room than a salad spinner, it really doesn't work any better than one. It's not bad, but you do still have to use the salad within about four days or it will start to wilt.
Overall, it's a pretty good product and I have started to eat more salads, but salad won't last forever in it.

5Took Awhile To Figure Out The Best Way To Use  Jan 30, 2012 By K. Horne
At first I was going to review this saying that it's a piece of junk, don't bother. It SEEMED like I got identical results just carefully keeping salad in a container with dry paper towels.

But now I know better. This thing works great, BUT YOU MUST KEEP IT WET/DAMP. I just tossed out my second batch of uneaten salad because it was all limp, and then I realized the bag had dried out.

Not their fault: they do tell you in the instructions to keep it damp. I just didn't realize it could dry out so quickly in the 'fridge.

From my limited tests with this, here's what I have to say about using it:

(1) Don't listen to them about putting your salad in wet. It will get all slimy and gross (like lettuce can do) inside the bag, even following their directions. Instead, put your lettuce in a salad spinner like normal.
(2) Get the bag wet before using it. If you have to, wring it out so that it's not WET-wet, just damp. Then put your salad-spinner lettuce inside.
(3) Take the bag out every day, even if not having salad, to toss the lettuce around inside. If the bag isn't REALLY DAMP, get it wet again (I'll probably use a spray bottle or the spray hose attachment on my sink to do this).

This may SOUND like a lot of work, but really, it doesn't feel like it to me (the ultimate lazy "cook"). It's worth it to have not-limp-and-not-slimy salad for up to a week. I'm here to buy another one. That says something, from someone who was about to trash its reputation.
