5Great Product for both Fleas and Head Lice  Nov 30, 2006 By Mark Jennette
My granddaughter had head lice. Nothing we bought over the counter or that her doctor prescribed could get rid of them. I was in a local pet store and saw these Flea Zapper combs. I took a chance and bought one thinking if it works on fleas maybe it will work on head lice. Not only did it kill the lice but also the nits. My daughter combed her hair with it each night for a week. She has not had head lice since then. So many people borrowed ours we have lost track of it so now I'm buying another one, but this time for our pets. (I don't recommend using on wet hair). I'm really surprised it is not packaged and sold as a head lice control for people - probably has something to do with the FDA.

5It really really works!!  Sep 22, 2006 By Elizabeth Petroff "Avid Online Shopper"
I thought I would have to return this item, because I didn't think it would work. Well it does. It really electrocutes the fleas. They are dead. It is awesome! We used it on both our cats and both of our ferrets. I think it did shock one of our ferrets, though. She was the only one to feel it though and it did not cause any long term harm. It was still worth it. Really worth the money. And I have not seen this product on TV. I found it here through Amazon. And the seller really shipped it fast. Also it makes a small buzzing sound so you know it is working. It also stops making that same noise when it gets a flea and it lights up when it is zapping the fleas. Very easy to use.

1flea zapper  Oct 05, 2008 By D. Tardy
This product was useless to me. The prongs of the comb are covered with plastic balls that were so close to each other that it prevented the comb from going through the cats' fur. When I tried to angle the comb in an attempt to get at the fleas the cat got a shock. I had one a long time ago that had no plastic on the ends of the comb and it worked perfectly. I am unable to find that type of flea zapper any more. For me this was a total waste of money.

4removing fleas from my dog one month use.  Jul 25, 2007 By Patricia Dominique "pepit"
It works pretty good. The fleas do get electrocufied, sometimes, they just get stunned, or just plainly caught. I use a small dish with soap to drop them from the comb. You do need to use the small plastic comb to remove the fleas that gets stuck between the comb teeth otherwise the electric zapping doesn't work any further. The downfall is that the zapper is cheaply built and I already had to put scotch tape to keep the battery from being disconnected from the unit. Otherwise I would say it works better than a regular flea comb.

3Works half the time but a Pain to Use ALL the time  Jun 08, 2009 By Woodlandtrails
This item reminds me of those hard sell infomercials telling you to buy their "special" product and it will make your life easier or better in some way. Then you fall for it, use it a few times and then it gets stored somewhere and never used again. I wish I had googled "Flea Zapper reviews" before I purchased this thing.

This thing works sometimes but it is a pain in the you know what. I purchased it thinking I wouldn't have to remove fleas from the comb because the fleas would get zapped, die and fall off. WRONG. A lot get stunned and bounce right back. And, fleas still get stuck in these tongs and have to be manually removed before it will start again. That little brush provided to "brush" the stuck fleas out of the tongs does work but not all the time. And, it is small and easily misplaced.
This Flea Zapper stays in my pet supply box because I find using a plain ole flea comb easier. (Use Four Paws Pet Comb with Wood Handle for Fleas for Extra Fine Coats with the SILVER tongs (black tongs hard to see fleas-see review)

It makes a loud buzzy noise that one cat runs from and if you touch a sensitive part of your pet with it-zap-never to see that animal again anywhere near this thing. Also, it is hard to use on my longer haired cats as the tongs are not that long.

I regret buying this flea zapper and any yard sale in the future will definitely include this item.
