Carpets: The bristles flex and penetrate into carpet pile to remove unwanted pet hair without the risk of damaging or scuffing valuable furniture. A static charge is built up that actually pulls dirt, dust and hair into the broom.

Great product! Dec 02, 2008
By Alexis Coxon I normally avoid any infomercial-type products like the plague, but I decided to try this broom out after hearing it praised so highly in Ellen Sandbeck's book Organic Housekeeping: In Which the Non-Toxic Avenger Shows You How to Improve Your Health and That of Your Family, While You Save Time, Money, and, Perhaps, Your Sanity. Well, color me impressed!
The broom has quite a large head and a telescoping handle, which extends quite a ways at its full length and is very compact at its shortest length. In fact, one of my few complaints is that the head may be a tiny bit TOO large for my taste -- a slightly smaller model may work better in the kitchen, with this size suited a bit more to the basement or outdoor tasks. The telescoping handle is nice; you just twist to tighten or release it. I do find that if I'm not careful when I'm sweeping, I'll inadvertently grab the twisty part (that's the technical term for it!) and collapse the handle.
Sweeping with this broom is AWESOME! Well, as awesome as sweeping can be ... One problem I always had with a regular broom is that dog hair would go floating merrily across the floor, making it tough to get every last bit. But with the rubber broom, the hair tends to clump up in a neat little pile. The broom also works well on my rugs -- handy when I went to get the pet hair off them but don't feel like dragging out the vacuum.
I've also used the broom to mop, with great results. I had been using a Swiffer Wet Jet, with pretty good results, but the refills get pricey, and I felt bad about the amount of waste I was creating. Now I just use a couple rubber bands to attach an old, damp hand towel to the rubber broom. It works great, and the best part is that it's easy to take off the towel and put a fresh one on, so you're not just spreading dirt all over the floor. I also find that the rubber broom/towel combo seems to get the floor a bit cleaner than the smoother Swiffer pads -- very handy when you have a large dog and a toddler who loves to throw food. (Bonus -- I mop more frequently now, since I don't worry about "wasting" my Swiffer pads!)

Got just what I ordered May 15, 2010
By Evester76 I needed a large broom to sweep up a large space. This broom works perfectly for what I needed. The telescopic handle was easy to adjust and sturdy when pushed around. The broom itself was easy to clean, and care for. Overall a good purchase for me.

Wonky handle Aug 22, 2009
By Elizabeth The broom itself probably is fine, but the handle is so bad and detaches from the broom head that I haven't been able to use it efficiently. I'll have to go out and buy a new handle and hope it fits. Grrrr.

My new friend! Aug 04, 2010
By JenMan I'm not a very good housekeeper, so I saw this broom listed in Parents Magazine's book review about organic house cleaning and thought I'd give it a try. This broom rocks. It's rubber bristles pick up all of the lovely black dog hair on my floor and do a great job of getting crumbs my 2 yr old drops. It is also easy to clean. I swept it across some gooey food by mistake and I was able to clean the bristles easily by unscrewing the head of the broom and putting it in some dish water. Took 10 seconds and it was clean. I love this broom and my husband refers to it as my new best friend! Hooray for products that make a mom's life easier!

Not as advertised Nov 10, 2010
By Stefania I specifically selected and purchased this item after reading that the "Dutch Rubber Broom" was an essential tool for 'green housekeeping.' I viewed several similar items and purchased this one -- despite its significantly higher cost -- since it was the only one called "Dutch Rubber Broom." When the item arrived, I was puzzled to find that nowhere on the packaging was "Dutch Rubber Broom" written. Instead it was labeled just like cheaper items I had dismissed in my search. Then I found the phrase "Made in Italy" on the packaging, which for a moment seemed reassuring since we prefer not to purchase products made in China for numerous reasons. However, the actual product is stamped with "Made in China." This product cost more and did not stand up to its description online or on the packaging.
