It worked. Nov 12, 2006
By Ricky It actually reduced dryer static with dorm dryers. When I first saw what I got, I was kind of dubious because it seemed like just a sponge in a plastic case. So I was surprised when I got my cloths dry without heavy static cling. It didn't completely eliminate static (so it's four stars), but reduced static to satisfactory level. I recommend it. It's handy.

they don't work Jul 17, 2007
By C. Keast I was excited when I bought these thinking they were the perfect compliment to the fabric softener balls that don't help with static. Unfortunately despite the claims, these don't help with static either! I could be imagining things but it seems to have almost made it worse!

Tried several different brands, this is the least effective Jul 08, 2007
By Michael Smith

These balls seem to be effective for one medium load of non towel/cotton laundry. Then there seemed to be a buildup of static in the balls and they became ineffective on the second load. After leaving them for a few days I tried them again and they again worked for one medium sized load of laundry. On the third and final time I tried, the towels were completely filled with static.
It seems to take a few days for the built up static charge to dissipate and to be truly effective you would need several sets of these balls, which kind of defeats the purpose of the idea in my opinion.
I have yet to find an effective version of this idea but I will keep looking, just not at these.

works for me Nov 10, 2009

I've been using this in my dryer for a year and it is working for each load, I usually do five loads on a weekend, and since I stopped using the dryer sheets my sensor on the dryer works much better. I tried the other dryer ball and the spokes tore my sheets and ruined some of my towels, this was much safer.
BEST FRAGRANCE FREE DRYER BALL (AMAZON) Jan 22, 2012
By FRAGRANCE FREE GREAT FOR ME DUE TO ALLERIGES TO PERFUMES AND SOME PLASTICS. EVEN ALLERGIC TO BOUNCE'S "FRAGRANCE FREE" DRYER SHEETS. DRYER BALL "WEARS OUT" AFTER ABOUT 10-12 MONTHS WHEN I NOTICED MY ALLERGIC RESPONSE WHEN REMOVING CLOTHES FROM DRYER; COULD BE CHANGE TO PLASTICS AFTER ALL THE HEAT. HAVE USED UP SIX BALLS. PRIOR PURCHASES FROM PHYSICAL STORE BUT NOT THERE IN YEARS. VERY HAPPY TO FIND IT ON AMAZON.
