We not only have a great price on Displex, but we include 10 2"x2" 100% pure cotton patches so you do not have to buy cotton patches or cloth to use with the displex! (100% cotton MUST be used) THE PROBLEM: Mobile telephone displays scratch very easily and thus appear shabby and unsightly. Only a few manufacturers offer replacement displays and even then the exchange is usually very costly. THE SOLUTION: DISPLEX offers a simple solution for this widespread customer problem. With this new type of special polishing paste, end users have for the first time the possibility of eliminating the scratches in their mobile phone displays quickly and cost effectively in a do-it-yourself process THE USE: Apply some DISPLEX to the mobile phone display. Polish the scratched areas with heavy pressure for 2-3 minutes with a soft, clean cotton cloth. Repeat application as necessary for deep scratches. Remove residue Attention: do not polish coated surfaces; treat the transparent part of the display lens exclusively. Contents of tube of 5g is sufficient for approx. 8-10 applications. HOW IT WORKS: The plastic lens is lightly dissolved and polished with fine abrasive particles. The corners of the scratch traces are rounded off and the fissure bottom filled out with the material of the lens itself.

5Magic Scratch Fixer  Jun 02, 2005 By Daniel G. Lebryk
This product is amazing. I'd read the reviews and recommendations for Displex on PSP forums. Frankly, wasn't sure it would perform. My PSP display was pretty much trashed with scratches from a cell phone rubbing against it and then my lame attempts with a polishing kit, rubbing compound, and automotive polish at removing those scratches. Basically, there were scratches absolutely everywhere. It takes a long long time rubbing, but all the scratches were removed and the screen returned to absolute mirror finish.

A couple of tips - a little goes a very long way. Use only one or two drops on an area and rub firmly and for a long time. That tube is probably enough to completely polish a PSP screen 10 or 20 times. A lamp shining on the display can help show where the scratches are while you polish. Do not save the cotton cloth used to do the polishing - they are disposable (the kit contains about 6 squares). If you try to reuse the cloth, it will actually scratch your dispaly from the dried product. Rub until you think your arm is going to fall off, and then keep going. It takes a lot of work. The PSP actually has two layers, a sort of clear topcoat that is pretty thick. Then there is a base of plastic. If the scratch is deep, you'll rub down through the clearcoat. Not to worry, that clearcoat does not affect the view. Lastly, once you've gone through all this trouble, buy either a plastic film screen protector or a case. You don't want to go through all this rubbing again.

June 15, 2011 - It's been six years since I wrote this review. I still have that original tube of Displex. I have used this on all kinds of scratches. I use this the most on DVD's. Netflix DVD's tend to have a lot of scratches on them. Instead of wasting my time exchanging a scratched DVD, I try to clean up the scratches first. Out of about 50 skipping DVD's I've tried to clean up, I was able to fix all but 4. The 4 difficult ones had really deep scratches. The only tip for using this on DVD's - rub back and forth across the DVD (radially - between the center hole and the edge of the DVD), not around in a circle. It still takes a lot of work to remove those nicks and scratches.

There really isn't anything magic about this product, it is simply an extremely fine polishing compound, that might leave a bit of residue in fine scratches. After all these years, I strongly recommend this product.

5Displex  Apr 18, 2005 By Steve "Medical"
I really got this to get rid of some scratches on my Sony PSP. It worked wonders. I was worried that it would leave kind of a White residue and ruin the screen, not the case here at all. I tired it on my Mom's glasses, they're like new. I tried it on a CD, it's just fine. You only need one drop. The thing I don't like it that you have to rub it for a bout 2-3 minutes and your fingers get tired. It should be in everyone's house, you never know what will happen

5Amazing solution to my problem!  Aug 28, 2005 By J. Waggoner
A small statue fell off a shelf above my computer desk and created a very obvious two-inch scratch right in the middle of the LCD display on my new 20-inch iMac G5. After several months of research, including calls to Apple Computer, I finally happened upon Displex here. I ordered it from CoolCyberCats and received the tube in about three days! I used one drop on one of the included small cloth patches and rubbed over the scratch for about four minutes. The scratch is gone! The product worked beautifully! I don't know if it would work on a laptop LCD if it lacks a clear cover layer, but on my desktop machine it was a wonder. Both the product and the supplier exceeded my expectations!

5Works on light to medium scratches  Oct 26, 2007 By L. Kirk "Technologirl"
I have used this product for 5 years or more. I have used it to remove scratches on PDA screens (Palm and Sony), cell phone screens (Nokia), and camera LCD screens.

Success requires patience. A small amount is applied, and then rub and rub and rub. Wipe clean and check the scratches. If they're still there, repeat.

This product is not going to remove gouges, nothing can do that. It's not going to fix cracks. But if you have light surface scratches, and if you follow the directions, you will be able to successfully remove those scratches.

EDIT: Do not use this product on matte finish displays (e.g., Kindle, Nook). These displays have a pebble-grain finish that disperses light. Displex will polish down the pebbles and the screen has a "hot" reflective spot afterwards.

3Be Adventurous, Just Not Hopeful  Jun 20, 2009 By Ryan Matthews "montvil"
I couldn't even tell you how I did it, but I scratched the facing on my phone a couple weeks ago, and I'd only had it for about a month. I have a habit of obsessing over the condition of my most prized possessions, so of course, I had to search for a product that could remove the scratch. I came upon this and decided to give it a try.

I think the most intelligent thing you could do when faced with purchasing something you know nothing about is to look at the price. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. For $12 and change, including shipping and handling, I had to see if Displex was worth the hype and though I don't consider it a ripoff, I came out mildly disappointed.

The biggest problem with the scratch on my phone (an LG env2) was that it was half on the screen, half on a coated area. Judging from the other reviews, I was going to take my chances and ignore the warnings about polishing in coated areas because the phone just desperately needed a tuneup. Fact is, this product doesn't remove scratches, so to speak. It merely smooths out the surface the scratch is on. My scratch grew into more of a groove than anything else (something I could live with) but it's still more than visible with the naked eye. I'm not going to say it made it worse, but it didn't make it any better.

Also, don't by any means use on a coated area. I took my chances and it removed a little of the finish on my phone. Yes, it sucks, but someone has to be the first penguin to jump in the water, right?

I tried this on an old phone I don't use anymore, the facing of an iPod, and my current phone. This is the gist of what I've learned:
- You're flat out not going to remove deep scratches with this product. Small scratches may seem less visible after several minutes of work, but they won't disappear completely.

I know a lot of people have been raving about the product and I wish I could say the same, but maybe I just have higher standards. Or maybe it just didn't do for me what it did for others. But I'll tell you two things I'm sure of: a) I didn't use the product wrong. I followed the directions word-for-word and b) I put the time into it. So it's not like I could've tried harder.

For $7, it's worth a try, but just be aware that you get your money's worth. If this was a true miracle product for the dirtiest of scratch jobs, it'd cost a hell of a lot more money.
