Okay, Christmas and all is done...what to do that has very little effort for January? Well our family has a Chia Pet contest. I bought several as did my family and we Start on January 2, ending on the 30th. Who ever gets the longest seedling wins... and we post them on Facebook for all to see. Try it low key fun to banter back and forth while its growing. Each person tries to figure out what food is better and how much lite and its an annual thing now. The seller has great variety...

Wonderful gift for the Grandchildren Apr 30, 2011

When a new grandbaby arrived, I had Chia Pets sent to the older grandchildren as a little something special just for them. They were so happy with them, and said that the seeds sprouted fast. I had searched in the local stores for Chia Pets and could not find any. Amazon.com came to the rescue as always. Thank you so much.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift and it was a hit. Both my neices (6 years and 8 years old) loved this and really wanted one which I had no idea about. They have used it and said that they watch it grow everyday.

It works, but the making of the chia "goo" takes a time or two to learn. The only problem with the cat is that it looks more like a pig, but that's not a biggie. Fun to use, but need to find out where to buy more chia seeds.
