Do not waste your money. I put 1 in my kitchen. It had been plugged-in for a few weeks. I was baking cupcakes, took them out of the oven, placed them on a rack to cool. When I came back into the kitchen to frost the cupcakes, a mouse was eating my cupcakes 2 feet away from this hunk of crap.

We have a certain number of annoying pests around the house. Fortunately, there are no rodents. We have a couple cats and the rodents seem to know better than to show up. I wish I could say the same for silverfish, spiders, earwigs, ants, scorpions and moths. Argentine ants are especially annoying and I have a poison which is sometimes effective. Sometimes it isn't, however.

I ran across this little item: the Bell and Howell Ultrasonic Pest Repeller (model no. SB 104) and picked up 6. It seemed so simple. Just plug this into your outlets and it will emit an ultrasonic blip now and then and the pests will disappear. Plus it's Bell and Howell, isn't it? They turn out good, effective, well-researched products, don't they? I couldn't resist. I took my treasures home and plugged them in: two in the kitchen, two in the dining room, one in the living room and one in the bathroom.

Well, intuitively, I just knew this wasn't going to work but I had a glimmer of hope. Pests around the house are usually just not that simple of a problem. But, it seemed worth a try. Well, sure enough, they don't work. They sit there plugged in and emitting a little flashing light about every three seconds, and presumably an inaudible ultrasonic signal that insects, etc, just can't bear. Well, I haven't noticed that it has any effect at all on the insect population. The ants still seem to be everywhere, including right on the ultrasonic repeller.

I'm going to give these things a longer try, simply because I bought them. However, the product appears to be totally ineffective, as far as I can tell. If you're looking for the magic wand solution to your household pest problems, these Ultrasonic Pest Repellers are probably not it.

I had some bugs in my house - grain moths, spiders, etc. I bought TWO of these ultrasonic pest repellers - the 3 pack from Bell & Howell. I had a 1 bedroom and placed them at strategic areas around my apartment. Waited 6 weeks and NO RESULTS WHATSOEVER.

It is a hype and a big waste of money. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt from Rite Aid and cannot return them. Rite Aid is pretty good even if you lose your receipt - they give Store Credit gift card - but this was a "seasonal summer item" and no longer scans at the register.

I paid $30 each - 2 packs - so I blew $60 plus tax - another $6. $66.00 down the drain.

Bell & Howell are sleaze-bags. I contacted the customer service email THREE TIMES on their website to get a refund or credit on other stuff they sell. Never got a response.

I don't like getting ripped off by billionaire corporations - just for the heck of it I might file a Small Claims Courtcase and get my money back by Writ of Execution and a lien which the Deputy Sherrif of my county can file by mail to Bell & Howell's corporate headquarters.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I have also tried other brands - same principle and they did not work. It is supposed to work with "sound waves" and that sound annoys the rodent or insect - so they leave. About 20 years ago in a different city I moved into a place that had a lot of cockroaches. I tried the same kind of device but a different manufacturer and it did not work.

I think it is a lot of hype - don't waste your money, honey. I wound up moving out of that home to a new place and now have no more grain moths and spiders - so problem solved!

No luck with this Item for Cockroaches.
It stired em up for a while but they just got
use to it and returned, even crawling on the repeller.

Just use some Boric acid and roach trapps for
better reslults.

We've had ants in our house for months before my parents recommended this pest repeller for us -- and it has worked wonders! To us and our 2-year-old, the repellers are no trouble, they just make very slight clicking noise a couple of times a minute. To the ants and small bugs whose names I do not know (they have 2 antenna-like things on the rear end), they seem to be murder -- both are gone completely, haven't seen a single one now in weeks. It doesn't work wonders -- only works in a room, for example, and does not kill bugs or drive away flies -- but it was perfect for ant repelling, the thing we needed it most. Very happy with this product.
