Just bought 8 dozen bagels from Costco and before I put them into the freezer I always slice them first. Wow! So much better than using a bread knife - safer and so quick and easy! I am tickled pink with this product and highly recommend it to any and all bagel lovers.

I had 2 choices...keep putting bandages on my hands or get a bagle cutter :) I opted for the bagel cutter.
It works as designed very well, HOWEVER...as we all get fatter you may have noticed an average bagel has gotten bigger to help that cause :( You kind of have to stuff larger bagels in this thing...it'll still work, but it just doesn't feel right...especially if you actually do know how to cut a bagel in half with a knife.
Update as of 2.22.11 - this device was great, but it has found its way to the drawer of un-used kitchen equipment. It is just faster to use a knife.

Used one of these at a hotel we were staying at. Great design, works well, much safer than cutting with a knife.
