 Truly revolutionary - with only one minor glitch May 20, 2011

These bags live up to the hype - they securely store your items and compact items down to a manageable and easily stored size. With our vacuum cleaner, sucking the air out of the bags is quick and easy. The package deal is actually quite nice and the best I was able to find on the internet (including specials on the manufacturers website).
Now, the minor glitch/problem. One of the space bags (xtra-large) had a pinprick size hole in it when we received this new item from Amazon. It was not immediately noticeable until after we started using all the bags and heard a high pitched wheeze coming from the bag (air leaking back in the tiny hole). When we attempted to return this item for a replacement, we were only offered a refund (which wasn't an ideal option, since we had already used and stored all the other bags, which would be a lot of work to return to the original condition. We were able to easily fix the bag with some well-placed duct tape. As annoying as this is (new products should be without defect), it wasn't too hard to fix and would have been more trouble to try to send it back. If you get this product (and we certainly recommend it), recommend you check all the bags for problems prior to filling/sealing any of them.

So I was a little skeptical about space bags after reading the mixed reviews. I figured I would give them a shot, and they're great. I'm using these bags for all of my clothes since I'm moving. These bags are freeing up so much space in car it's unbelievable. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

These bags are great! I was definitely a little hesitant to buy them, as I have seen the infomercials on TV and thought they looked like just cheap plastic and maybe a little too good to be true. However, we live in a home without a lot of extra storage and I really needed a way to condense some of the off-season things we need to store, so I decided to try them. So glad I did!! The plastic is very thick and a LOT of stuff fits into each one.
I used 1 Jumbo cube for all our winter blankets (including a HUGE knitted blanket and a queen Nap blanket from Bookstone, as well as several down throws and other knitted blankets), 1 Large cube for all of our winter sheets (it held multiple sets of thick flannel sheets) and the 4 large bags to store sweaters and other winter gear. Having all of these things in the Space Bags takes up about 1/2 the space it all did before! I prefer the large bags and the cubes, but will use the medium bags in the near future I'm sure. I haven't used the travel bags yet, but I really bought this set to store big things and it definitely works for that!

Like all things, there is a user error curve to this product. The important thing to remember is that the double seal is really sealed. The plastic clip does it for the most part, but you really want to take the time to go over the locking seals with your fingers and click the seal in place. If they are sealed, the product is awesome and worth every penny.
The amount of clothes that fit in the bags added with the ability to mold the bags in a plasic tote prior to sealing them up is wonderful. I fill the totes with clothes and store them in the rafters in my garage and they are free of bugs, water and just the general garage smells.

We've spent an insanely large amount of money on these bags in an attempt to condense our holiday and winter things, but 9 out of the 10 we bought lost their seal within 48 hours (almost all were much sooner then that). The idea is great, the result is wonderful - the first few minutes after you vaccuum the bags - but they don't maintain that at all. I've bought these bags a few times over the years thinking it would be different, but it is ALWAYS the same. I seriously have to question how long the people who have given them high marks have actually used them but it seems they found the miracle bags that actually work. Good luck if you decide to buy Space Bags!
