2Disappointed  Feb 01, 2010 By Laura
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas. She was so excited to get it, and had been wanting this. I have to say that it's not easy to use. Constantly refilling the beads in the pen is a pain. The pen doesn't hold very many beads, so you need to refill it continuously. It seems more beads roll away on the floor than actually get used in the craft project. Once you finally get the beads on the tray (which there are 2 different types of trays depending on how you want the beads to 'pattern'. I didn't know this.), you have to spray the beads with water in the water spritzer provided. I guess the water is supposed to 'melt' the beads together, but half of the beads didn't stick together. We tried different water amounts on different craft attempts, but all we seems to end up with are tiny beads everywhere or a sticky mess. I wouldn't recommend this product. I wish I could get my money back.

2fall apart  Feb 14, 2010 By S. Wright
My 5yo daughter really wanted these for Xmas so they came from Santa. I'm glad Santa just got a little pack. They are a pain. They don't stick together well at all. We spray and respray many times and then let them dry for at least a day. They are fragile. The pen isn't very practical either. Luckily, in researching toys before xmas, we found fuse beads. These are much easier to work with, are less expensive and the end product is much stronger. Yes, you do have to use an iron to melt the beads together, but this is a much faster and easier process than spraying water on the pixos, waiting for them to dry and hoping they stay together.
I recommend Fuse Beads over pixos.

4mother of 4 year old girl.... nice gift  Dec 28, 2009 By Rachel "Rachel"
Santa gave this to my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. She was a little frustrated at first, but after I made one and showed her how to do it she loved it. she likes making her own designs better than the templates right now. the pen hasn't given us any trouble yet. the only thing i would recommend is to buy a refill kit. it does come with a nice amount of beads, but after 2 or 3 pictures you start to run out of colors. also, i really spray the beads to make them stick, after about 20 min. I check to see if i can remove them from the tray without breaking it. if i can, i put it on a piece of wax paper or plastic wrap and spay one side, after it dries turn it over and spay the other side. this helps to make it a little more durable for kids to play with.

1wow, is this ever a rotten craft toy  May 19, 2010 By Emell "Emell"
4yr old daughter and I tried it one afternoon. It was a disaster. The tiny balls were rolling all over the place. Some of them unintentionally got damp, which made them slimy and gooey, and they started sticking to all kinds of stuff I didn't want them stuck to. The "pen" and the water mister are not easy to operate for little hands. In fact the pen, which is designed to release the little balls one at a time, is pretty much ineffective. Instead we used our fingers to place the balls/beads. The finished designs do not hold together after the recommended 10 min drying time. Hell, they don't hold together no matter how long you dry them. I considered using glue, but instead opted to toss the whole mess into the trash, adios muchachos.

3Pen  Jan 24, 2010 By Dancin
It took me some time to realize the top of the pen works as a funnel. I bought this for the kids I work with thinking it would be a great activity. The pen jams if there is full row of beads, but now when there is a half row.
