I bought this accessory for my children specifically due to the carpeting in our house and a review that stated this was a great accessory for carpeting. The surfboard is NOT for carpeting. It specifically states in the directions that it works best on flat clear surfaces. It is cute to watch on flat surfaces, but do NOT buy this if your looking for something to help with carpet. I believe that the ball works much better on carpets.

By Michael G. Ward This is one of the best Zhu Zhu products. The hamster is so cool when it is on the surfboard. This is great, especially if you have a lot of carpeting in your home - he really goes well on the carpeting, without it your Zhu Zhu pet does a lot of hopping.

Even though I would recommend this product because it's so cute; I do have to say that I was a little shocked at the cheap plastic that makes the sleep hut (dome). The surf board looks and feels sturdy but the sleep hut (dome) I think is way too thin. You can easily bend the plastic. I could easily see my daughter pressing to hard to close the sleep hut and have it snap in her hands (potentially cutting her hand). I would think it would be thicker to stand up to a 5-year old. BTW - you can purchase this set at Walmart for ten dollars.
