Nice Grill, with some issues Jun 25, 2006
By dmp I thought this grill would be a great, more convenient alternative to the George Foreman grill. I have used the flat side for pancakes, eggs, etc and the grill side for chicken and steaks.
I have found 2 issues with it:
1> We have a newer gas stove (purchased in 2004). The grill does not fit well over 2 burner grates. It is a little lodsided and you have to be careful when you are using a spatula to turn or remove food as the whole grill will shift and slide off the grates. First time I used it, we almost lost the whole meal.
2> It has a "non-stick" coating, but seems VERY difficult to clean. The flat side has "shadows" of where the pancakes were actually sitting. The grill side has meat/grease stuck in the ridges. Not only is it a non-stick surface, I used PAM spray or brushed it with oil also. I have washed it REPEATEDLY - have scoured it with "non-stick safe" scrubbies, left it soaking overnight in a sink of VERY hot soapy water, hand-washed it, put it in the dishwasher, and hand-washed it again and used the new DAWN grease-eating foam. Still cannot get rid of these "stains" or "shadows".
So I haven't used it again because it has never been back in the "CLEAN" pile. I take it out of the dishwasher or drainboard, and it goes right back into the sink with today's dirty dishes.

Great for indoor grilling! Aug 29, 2005
By Paul T. Weiler Update: This thing warped in the middle even only using at low to medium heat. We threw it away. If I buy another one it will be cast iron. For now I use my cast iron grill pan.
Picked this up on the cheap at Target. I'd been looking for a stovetop double burner grill that would work on our electric stove. My wife picked this up and said "do you mean something like this?". I couldn't believe it when she told me the price was only $15.
You treat this like you would any of your non-stick pans- don't use metal utensils. Also it is very important not to turn the heat up past medium, as this can ruin your stovetop.
So far I've cooked chicken breasts on the griddle side and steak on the grill side. It works great!
Before I got married my best friend was the George Foreman grill. But now my wife and I both enjoy cooking and this little pan is much easier to pull out and put on the stove top. Unlike my old George Foreman, I am actually able to control the temperature with my Nathan's grill pan. And yes, the fat still rolls away. All the healthiness- with less burning! Yay!
If you enjoy grilling year round, a stovetop grill is a must (unless you have one built in). For the price, I'd say you can't beat this little pan. You could pay a lot more for a grill pan. But being non-stick, the teflon coating eventually wears out no matter what brand you buy. So I figure as long as they keep making these, I can afford to spend 15 bucks every few years.

IT IS TRUE....EVRYTHING STICKS Sep 06, 2010
By Shank IT IS TRUE...everything sticks to this griddle/grill....and even with a ton of oil and grilling spray (Pam). Although it cooked my food well, I made a huge mess having to constantly spray with every flip of food. The clean up was miserable. If you got this as a gift, then try it since it is cheap. If you bought it or are buying it for yourslef.....return it or DO NOT BUY IT!

Everything sticks to this Feb 22, 2009
By Happiest Girl Even food marinaded in oil sticks to a Nathan's grill hosed down in grill spray. Pancakes, eggs, chicken, bacon...it all sticks. Plus it requires a day of soaking to get anywhere near clean.
Do not buy this product!! Sep 04, 2011
By Robert E. Brown This is the worst product I have ever seen. On the first use, the non-stick coating started chipping off and the food stuck to it anyway. I have attempted to contact Nathan's to no avail. I cannot get anyone to reply to me about the issue. If you want to buy this, save some time and just send me the money or toss the cash into a fire. You will get the same value from it. I wish I could give this thing zero stars.
