Effective Jul 26, 2010 We have had quite a few cats come into our yard, with one cat in particular who kept urinating in our garage and spraying on our doors. This device has kept all the neighborhood cats away from our yard. We have been using it for about 2 weeks now and it has done a great job. When I installed the battery, our own 2 cats went running to the other side of the house to get as far away from this thing as possible. I imagine that if you have a large area you are trying to protect that you would need more than one of these devices but this works well for us as we have a small yard.
it didn't last long Jul 21, 2010 catstop didn't last long. i was happy with the results for the first few weeks. it made a little tiny buzz, light went off and cats stayed away from my backyard. now the light still goes off but the buzz is gone and cats are back. i wonder if i can get this item replaced. if not, it is useless.
Don't waste your money Jul 16, 2010 Simply put, it does not work. I saw a cat run and climb a fence right by this device and it did not even activate. When I walk in front of it, it will not activate until I'm within about 5 feet. It has been completely ineffective at even reducing the number of cats that come into the one little area of our yard that it is supposed to cover, to say nothing of stopping them entirely. Your money would be better spent on a trap.
This is saving my garden and my sanity Jul 02, 2010 My neighbor feeds feral cats. If I had known that I don't think I would have purchased my house. Last count there were 31 cats roaming the neighborhood and this is an urban area. Needless to say these cats think everyone's yard and garden is their personal bathroom, it is just gross. I now have 3 of these and am able to keep the cats away from the doors and the garden area. They have to be moved around as it seems the cats get used to them. It is a constant battle but the CatStop is a great tool to help fight back.
It does what it says! Stops Cats! Jun 26, 2010
I use this to keep the cats of of my nice new car.
I have had one of these units in the past and it lasted me 4 years in year round New England weather. I am very happy to have another one and it is working great so far. It seems in the newer model that it makes a louder (audible to human) noise which startles the cats as well when they go by the CatStop. They do there best to stay out of the area where the CatStop is all together now. It has been in place for the past month and it is working very well.
