| | Features | The switch of the 3 way unit has an alarm setting, an off setting and a chime setting. When set, the chime setting allows you to hear a single pleasant tone when a door or window is opened. It's similar to the systems used in some retail stores. Like an automatic doorbell, it let's you know that someone has just triggered the alarmIncludes 4 First Alert Alarms with Batteries for Each Unit; Instructions

Must have. Jul 30, 2011
By Nessly This is used for alarming us if someone leaves or enters our doorway. Have another one for securing my safe box - when opened, it alarms. Have another one for the windows in the garage. Multiple use and comes in a pack. The adhesive sticker not as good but you can easily replace it your own. Buy an adhesive tape from Home Depot.
not loud enough Feb 28, 2011
By J. McGregor I think these would be great if only the alarm was louder. I am sure I wouldn't hear it if I was upstairs and especially not if I was sleeping.
Great for travel too May 29, 2010
By Tom King III I actually purchased this set to take along on vacation so that I would not have to worry about the kids. It was great because you did not have to screw it in to install it, it applies with and adhesive. I just took along a bottle of goof off to remove the adhesive residue when we left! The added peace of mind made for a stress free vacation!
Excellent LOUD alarm-Easy and Convenient Dec 11, 2008

This is a VERY LOUD alarm! The previous reviewer may need to change the button cell batteries which, by the way, last a LONG time. I have a child with special needs and have one on every door. (You can use them on windows too!) You can switch the button on the side for 3 modes; have the loud unending siren alarm activated or the loud 2 ring chime, or put button in the middle for "off." Simply shut the door or flip the switch to "off" when the door is open and you want to stop the alarm. We lived in the country and I know it was heard acres away! Note that if you have wooden trim around the door frame on the wall, you may need to install these upside down(they install with a super strong sticky back). So long as the two pieces of the alarm are lined up next to eachother(one side goes on the door, the other side goes on the wall or trim next to the door), they will work great! As soon as the door is opened, the alarm sounds because the magnetic connection has been broken. I highly recommend these, especially when more elaborate security systems are cost-prohibitive or if you have a small child or someone in the home who may wander off.

Don't be fooled Dec 25, 2006
By Kelsy Sabin I purchased this product in hopes of making my home more secure but when I opened the package and pulled out the alarms I discovered that they dont make a sound loud enough to even scare a mouse. They make an annoying sound but its faint even with brand new batteries.
